Fashionious Assault

Is it too low a blow to suggest that Naomi Campbell should have been arrested for wearing this outfit? Assault. Assault on the eyes!

Observations

Some observations arising from flipping through August Harper’s Bazaar, which landed on my desk yesterday.

1. If, as she claims, Chloe Sevigny’s biggest fashion mistake is everything she’s ever worn, why the hell does she keep dressing like that?

2. The “In and Out” section on the last page has often concerned me because they clearly struggle to find the “Outs” some months and wind up listing things that either (a) have never been “In” or (b) haven’t been “In” since a collectively delusional five minute period in 1982.

This month sealed it, however, with the declaration that hair ribbons are “In” and scrunchies are “Out (always)”. Translation: there is no hair accessory that is currently “Out” but we really really wanted to include something about ribbons.

3. As much as they would like us to think so, nothing is ever going to convince me that buying either a pair of knee-length slim-fitting cord shorts, nor a giant, overwhelming, ugly coloured and patterned coat is “a purchase [I’ll] never regret”.
