So here we are again, as Fashion Month begins in New York.
Regular readers may have noticed that I crashed out of my usual coverage method during the middle of the last Paris Fashion Week back in October and didn’t update for a couple of months afterwards. It wasn’t because I was all fashioned out, but more because instead of looking at photos of clothes in France, I went to France and bought clothes and took photos. Oh yes, and did a ton on work.
Since those heady days on the French Riviera – best purchase a tie between $20 leopard ballet flats and a swag of long-sleeved Ts at Petit Bateau – the work thing has not slowed down, but rather increased even further. Which means that my time for online fashion has diminished somewhat, even though I still have every desire to flip through the look books to know what positive and negative trends are going to finally make their way down here in 18 months or so. (And no, I still do not own any leggings. I more than used up my quote of leggings in the early 90s and therefore will not return to them in any circumstances.)
Therefore, based on the recent success of the categorising method of commenting on the big red carpets during awards season, this Fashion Month will be covered by category rather than daily by show. Which also means that I’ll be breaking with my previously self-imposed rule of only showing what I like, rather than what’s awful (unless it’s really, really awful).
Categories and coverage to follow shortly.
